Chilitos, a homebred son of world champion Apollitical Jess owned by Anna Paredes and Omar Paredes, on Saturday set the fastest qualifying time to the October 5, $344,050 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by Nestor Duran for trainer Adrian Huitron, Chilitos won the first of nine 400-yard trials by 1 1/2 lengths in :19.769. The Oklahoma-bred colt was winning for the second time in five outs and increasing his earnings to $56,599.

Chilitos was shortening in distance off of his second-place finish in a 400-yard All American Futurity (G1) trial at Ruidoso Downs on August 16. The colt's record includes a sixth-place finish in the April 20 Remington Park Futurity (RG1) for Oklahoma-breds.

Other prominent qualifiers include Cruz E. Nava's Trump My Record, the third-fastest qualifier. Trump My Record has banked $326,802 from seven outs, and his six wins include the March 20, 300-yard Harrah's Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs, and the May 3, 330-yard Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park.
