The FDD Dynasty gelding Midday News won the shake for the 10th and final position in the gates of the $1,550,855 All American Derby (G1), which will be run September 1 at Ruidoso Downs.

Midday News is a 2016 son of FDD Dynasty out of Summer Love Song by Mr Jess Perry. He is owned by a partnership of Linda Joiner, Pat Smith, Izora Southway, Holly King and Kelly Allen, and is trained by Mike Joiner.

Ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr., he won Trial 9 with a time of :21.516, which matched the time set by Rustys Miracle, tying them for 10th. The shake held on August 19 gave the final slot to Midday News.

Bred by Jim Streelman and Bill Dale, Midday News was fifth in the Ruidoso Derby (G1), third in the West Texas Derby (G3), and has a career record of 9-2-2-4 with earnings of $97,404.

Rustys Miracle is now eligible for the First Down Dash Handicap.

The Valiant Hero mare is owned by J & SM Inc., and notably last year initially appeared to have earned a spot in the All American Futurity (G1) finals, but was shifted down the qualifier list due to a New Mexico Racing Commission decision that reversed Moonflash Numbers' disqualification during the trials, which gained him a qualifying time.

Rustys Miracle went on to contest the All American Juvenile stakes, and has a career record of 15-8-0-1 $111,206.
