RACE RECORD: Racing exclusively in New Mexico, Midday News has contested a number of trials and earlier this year ran in the Ruidoso Derby (G1), finishing fifth. He won Trial 9 by a driving length, and tied for 10th fastest qualifying time before winning the shake for the final slot. 

BREEDER: The partnership of Jim Streelman and Bill Dale has bred the earners of about $2 million, including the likes of Cobalt Creek ($338,899) and Rainbow Derby (G1) winner Eagle Coast ($663,103).

OWNER: Linda Joiner, Pat Smith, Izora Southway, Holly King and Kelly Allen are accomplished women on their own in the racing industry, as well as accomplishments of their family members; together in this partnership they have raced the earners of more than $100,000. 

TRAINER: One of the sport’s all-time leading trainers by money earned, Mike Joiner has handled many good horses. He has saddled the earners of more than $24.4 million, with more than 780 winners since 1991. Among his runners are champions Kates Dynasty, FDD Dynasty, A Revenant, Brimmerton and First Klas Fred. In 2015, he won the 2004 All American Derby (G1) with Brimmerton.

QUALIFYING JOCKEY: Last year, Raul Ramirez Jr. guided Apocalyptical Jess to win the All American Futurity. Since 1989, the jockey has ridden 1,394 winners from 10,390 starters and the earners of more than $22.8 million. Other top runners include the likes of JLS Dasn And Zoomn ($514,345), Jess A Saint ($504,086), Ivan James ($463,647) and Blue Corazon ($420,400). 

PEDIGREE: FDD Dynasty is a 15-year-old son of First Down Dash who has sired the earners of more than $20.2 million, led by two-time world champion Jessies First Down ($1,624,002). He stands at Bob Moore Farms in Norman, Oklahoma. 

Summer Love Song is a daughter of champions Mr Jess Perry and Tiny First Down bred by Julianna Hawn Holt, who also bred qualifier Flash And Roll. The unraced mare has produced six winners from seven starters and the earners of more than $287,000, including stakes winner Sunset Run ($95,285).
