Wagon Chick V handled a muddy and sealed track with skill, as the 4-year-old daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon outran her 12-1 odds to win Saturday's $50,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap (G2) at Ruidoso Downs.

Ridden by Juan Pulido, Wagon Chick V went 400 yards in :19.740, and her margin of victory was a nose from 10-1 longshot New News. Clint Crawford prepped the mare for owner MJR Investments Ltd.

Wagon Chick V was bred in Oklahoma by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC, and the mare was stretching out in distance off of her half-length win in a 350-yard, $11,800 allowance dash at Ruidoso Downs on July 21. Raced in New Mexico and Oklahoma, Wagon Chick V has won seven of 16 races and has banked $251,650.

Last year, Wagon Chick V was a finalist in the All American (G1) and Heritage Place (G3) derbies.

"She's been a good filly," said Crawford. "She was fourth in the All American Derby last year, then this year at Remington Park she wouldn't get out of the gate. Then, she got up here and has been starting well."

Rarin ran third and was followed by Jacky Martin 21, FDD Can Jazz, Valiant Rogue, Uptown Dynasty, 13-10 favorite Jessies First Down, Hes Limitless, and LD Is Back.
