Horses have always been a beautiful part of Sema Cohen’s life. She has loved horses and their beauty as long as she can remember. For their representation of the Wild West and wide open spaces, she decided to draw them.
In addition to being at the top of her class in art and painting, she made a career of training and showing reining horses, ranking 5th in the nation in open reining in 2002.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sema had to quit riding and training. With encouragement from family and friends, she started to paint horses again, using an airbrush.
Now the horses have come back in her paintings. It is exciting to watch them as they come to life.
