The 2022 America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale boasts a hand-selected group of 14 artists. The exclusive, invitation-only show includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, bronze and other media in artworks depicting the American Quarter Horse lifestyle.
Meet some of the participating artists and view and purchase art at an opening reception August 20, at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo, Texas. The reception will include entertainment, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for guests and an exclusive opportunity to be the first to purchase from the show.
“We are very excited about the changes collectors will see in this year’s art show,” said Chief Foundation Officer Chris Sitz. “While we’ve always been proud of this event and how It supports the Hall of Fame & Museum, we feel our new format elevates the show to new heights.”
The show will also honor one artist with the Steel Dust Award, generously sponsored by Art of the West magazine. Selected by a panel of judges, the award is based on artistic merit and will recognize the recipient artist in a "best of show" competition.
An online preview of the show, which also boasts a new, more polished logo, will be available in July at aqha.com/artshow. After opening night, remaining art will be available for purchase online until October 22. All purchased artwork will remain on display at the Museum through the end of the exhibit.
The America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale is a fundraiser for the American Quarter Horse Foundation. A portion of the proceeds benefits the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum. The Hall of Fame preserves history and the American Quarter Horse and develops a variety of educational and outreach programs to enrich the lives of members and the Panhandle community.
America's Horse in Art is underwritten by the Amarillo Convention and Visitor Council Arts Committee, the Fairly Group, Ingram Quarter Horses and the Dorothy and Clarence Scharbauer Historic Preservation Fund.
