Eligibility Requirements

Applicant organization must be a facility which utilizes horses to provide equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) to benefit challenged or special-needs individuals. Additional requirements include:

  • Must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for three years or more;
  • Must be a member of one of the following:  American Hippotherapy Association (AHA), Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association Inc. (EAGALA) or the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.).

 
Funding Available

General Fund – decisions for the general fund will support Individualized Employee/Volunteer Training and Center Immersion Training through approved educational clinics and or workshops. Requests must be made by the facility and are subject to the organizational requirements listed above. Grant proposals for funding outside the scope of these areas will not be considered for funding.

Arizona Fund – decisions for the Arizona fund will support Individualized Employee/Volunteer Training, Center Immersion Training and scholarships or financial assistance for client expenses. Requests must be made by the facility and are subject to the organizational requirements listed above. Grant proposals for funding outside the scope of these areas will not be considered for funding. Applicants for the Arizona fund may not submit an application for general grant funding.


Application Process

The Foundation is currently updating the grant application process for this program, allowing members to submit their application online. Members interested in applying for 2019 funding will be able to access the new application system online through this website beginning January 1.
