Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity Trials Preview

Mamma Im Leaving You, a graded stakes placed daughter of Coronas Leaving You racing for Jeantile M. Deville, will make her next start in Friday's 330-yard Louisiana Breeders' Lassie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred fillies at Delta Downs.

A total of 98 fillies are entered in 10 trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 23 final.

Mamma Im Leaving You will be stretching out in distance off of her second-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Last Eagle V, in the March 29, 300-yard Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs. Jose R. Espinosa trains the filly.

Mamma Im Leaving You drew post 2 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa in the second trial.

Ladies Cruz Higher is coming off of a fourth-place finish in the Mardi Gras Futurity. John Norwood Jr. trains the sorrel Eagles Fly Higher filly for owner J and Y Racing.

Ladies Cruz Higher drew post 6 and will be ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez in the eighth heat.
