Champion Cowboys Gun Z captured another Grade 1 when he romped in the $120,000 Refrigerator Handicap (G1) at Lone Star Park on November 16.

The champion races for West Texas Racing Partners, and under jockey Francisco Calderon drew clear by 1 1/4 lengths in the quarter-mile test, stopping the clock in :21.301. Hes A Jet One was second and followed by Ima Chili, RGs Gold Wagon, Relentless Eagle,  Dashing Tres, Apollitical Ike,  Defours, KJ Wildthang and AS Moonflash.

The Refrigerator Handicap remembers one of American Quarter Horse racing's greatest horses. Refrigerator was a multiple world champion and retired as the sport's all-time leading money earner. The first horse to break $2 million in earnings, he retired in 1995 with $2,126,309, which with inflation would today be the equivalent of more than $4.5 million.

This is Cowboys Gun Z's second win from two starts this year. The $66,000 winner's share pushes his career earnings to $1,670, 517. He has won six of 13 career starts, including the 2023 All American Futurity (G1).

Bred by Running C Ranch LLC, Cowboys Gun Z is by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of the Tres Seis mare CF Smokin Gun.
