Oklahoma horseman William “Sammy” Anglin has passed away on January 28.

Oklahoma horseman William “Sammy” Anglin, 84, died January 28, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, papa and great-grandpa.

Sammy was born January 24, 1936, to Samuel Agustus Anglin and Lillian Mae (Hyams) Anglin. He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1956. 

He married Wesley Ann (Wells) Anglin on October 23, 1957, in Houston, Texas. They had three children, William Donald, the late Ronny Lynn and Connie Ann.

He bred in his own name American Quarter Horses that made more than 145 starts, including stakes winner Cameo Carrier ($64,231). 

He also bred horses that earned AQHA points in both open and youth competition. 

Private services were held at the family home.
