AQHA Achieve
A Virtual Knowledge Contest for Horse-Interested Youth
What Is AQHA Achieve?
AQHA Achieve is a three-phase virtual contest designed for youth who want to put their equine knowledge to the test. Open to participants worldwide, Achieve creates an accessible way to compete, learn and earn recognition from the world’s largest equine breed association.
Two divisions are offered:
-
13 & Under
-
14-18
Whether you’re involved in hippology, horse judging, 4-H, FFA or simply passionate about horses, AQHA Achieve gives you a chance to shine beyond the show pen.
How the Contest Works
Achieve is structured in three progressive phases designed to challenge competitors’ knowledge, communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
- All registered participants will begin with an online, hippology-style preliminary exam that evaluates foundational equine knowledge.
- From there, the 20 highest-scoring competitors in each division advance to the semifinal round, where they prepare and record a short speech on an assigned topic that is evaluated by officials.
- The top 10 finalists then move on to the hands-on challenge. They will receive a finals kit in the mail and will complete a guided, knowledge-based assignment submitted by video.
- Final submissions are reviewed and scored by officials, with placings announced and awards distributed following the conclusion of the contest.
