Complete the AQHA show management certification online at your own pace, or find a certified show manager or secretary to assist with your event.
Step 2: Send us an email.
Contact showapproval@aqha.org with your intentions.
Step 3: Hire an AQHA judge.
Use the Judges List to find an AQHA-approved judge. Be sure to select Type = Specialized and Certification.
Step 4: Submit an application.
Complete the application online. Our staff will ensure there are no conflicts and that your judge is AQHA-approved.
And your event is approved!

What is an ‘AQHA Special Event’?
Special events, as the name implies, may feature two single events, like barrel racing and pole bending or roping events like team roping and breakaway roping. A single set of points is awarded at each special event.
Become an AQHA Specialized Judge
AQHA specialized judges must be AQHA members in good standing, 25 years or older and approved by several AQHA committees. A complete list of mandatory criteria is included in the judges application form.
