Emily Crews of Texarkana, Texas, will ride into the herd to cut cattle with the best of the best December 13 during the National Cutting Horse Association Futurity open finals.

Emily, 17, was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012, and the group Western Wishes is making her dream of riding a cutting horse come true.

Emily has trained with Clint Allen on horses owned by the David McDavid family, and her life story will be featured in a presentation at the final. She will ride into the herd as the last horse in the first set of the finals.

“Emily is an incredible young girl who showcases amazing faith and perseverance,” Clint said. “I speak for myself and the McDavids when I saw we are honored to be a part of making her wish come true.”
