K-State Equestrian Parents Seek Compromise

Parents of Kansas State University’s equestrian student-athletes have asked the university for a compromise over the school’s decision to eliminate its No. 2 nationally ranked team, but K-State Athletics Director John Currie says the decision is final.

Currie has agreed to meet the parents Sunday morning to discuss the matter, but has set rules for the conversation that upset some families. The families also say he told only part of the story when he said publicly that K-State would honor the athletes’ scholarships.
