Changes to Congress Futurity Programs

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association will open All American Quarter Horse Congress futurity and stakes classes to additional breeds.

New for 2015, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association's All American Quarter Horse Congress Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle Futurity and Stakes classes will now be open to the following breeds/registries: AQHA, American Paint Horse Association, Appaloosa Horse Club, American Buckskin Registry Association, International Buckskin Horse Association, Palomino Horse Breeders of America and the Jockey Club.

There have also been changes to the Congress Masters program:

Congress Masters Western Pleasure Futurity

Guaranteed $30,000 to winner:

  • Ran as a futurity class instead of a slot class with no limit on entries
  • Open to AQHA, APHA, ApHA, ABRA, IBHA, PHBA and Jockey Club
  • 2 year-old maiden
  • 100% of the entry fee is paid back
  • $3,500 entry fee
  • Payments: April 1 – $1,000, June 1 – $1,000, August 1 – $1,500                  
  • Late Fees: received by July 1 – $250 penalty + first payment, received by August 1 – $500 penalty + first and final payments     
  • Declare Horse: August 1
  • Declare Rider: August 1 but can change up until 2 p.m. day before the class
  • Limited Awards: First – $10,000, Second – $7,500, Third – $5,000

Congress Masters Hunter Under Saddle Futurity

Guaranteed $15,000 to winner:

  • Ran as a futurity class instead of a slot class with no limit on entries
  • Open to AQHA, APHA, ApHA, ABRA, IBHA, PHBA and Jockey Club
  • 2 year-old maiden
  • 100% of the entry fee is paid back
  • $2,500 entry fee
  • Payments: April 1 – $500, June 1 – $1,000, August 1 – $1,000
  • Late Fees: received by July 1 – $250 penalty + first payment, received by August 1 – $500 penalty + first and final payments
  • Declare Horse: August 1
  • Declare Rider: August 1 but can change up until 2 p.m. day before the class
  • Limited Awards: First – $7,500, Second – $5,000, Third – $2,500
