Calling All Junior and Young Rider Reiners in the USA!

Qualifying begins January 1 for the inaugural FEI World Reining Championships for Juniors & Young Riders.

In FEI competition, Juniors are athletes from the beginning of the year they reach 14 until the end of the year they reach 18. Young Riders are athletes from the beginning of the year they reach 16 until the end of the year they reach 21.

In August 2017, the inaugural International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Reining Championships for Juniors & Young Riders will take place in Switzerland. The qualification period begins January 1, 2017.

To be eligible to compete as an individual or as a member of a team:

  • An athlete must achieve a minimum average score of 67 at one CRI3* Juniors or Young Riders event during the qualifying period.
  • Horses must be 7 years of age or older.
  • Juniors are athletes from the beginning of the year they reach 14 until the end of the year they reach 18.
  • Young Riders are athletes from the beginning of the year they reach 16 until the end of the year they reach 21.
