Western riding and western horses are simply fascinating. This unique combination of high class sport and entertainment, plus Europe’s biggest fair in western riding are the reason 50,000 visitors come to Americana every year. For riders and owners, Americana 2017 offers a purse of $ 160,000-added in various disciplines and 47 classes. For participants, Americana at Augsburg begins on September 3 while visitors will have to wait for the opening on September 6.

Top Event for Cattle Classes

For cutting and cow horse riders, Americana has always been one to the most important shows in Europe. From the beginning, Americana hosted the European Reined Cow Horse Futurity. In 2017, another cow horse highlight will be added: the ERCHA Nations Team Cup. Cutting will be more attractive than ever this year.

Focus on Reining with $50,000-added Bronze Trophy

Reining has been in the focus of Americana since the beginning. In 1988, the first big Bronze Trophy was offered here, and many times, the Americana Bronze Trophy was the decision of the NRHA World Champion. The big purse plus the chance of riding in front of 5,000 visitors in the final, has always attracted international reining stars to Augsburg. In 2017, the $50,000-added Americana Bronze Trophy Open will be among the top Bronze Trophies of the world and a very important step on the way to the NRHA World Championship. The Bronze Trophy open finals will be part of the Friday evening show, Reining Festival & Cow Horse Top 6, which also includes the World Cup Ranch Riding Open final and the top six cow horse riders in fencework.

$5,000-added World Cup Trail Open

With a purse of $ 5,000-added, the World Cup Trail Open will be one of the most attractive trail classes in Europe again. The finals will be on Sunday, September 10 – the last day of Americana. Visitors can look forward to the best trail horses and riders.

$3,000-added World Cup Ranch Riding – final in the evening show

Another attraction of Americana 2017 will be the World Cup Ranch Riding with a purse of $ 3,000-added. This year, there will be a go round plus a final which will be part of the Friday evening show.

Riders and owners should save the date: September 3-10, 2017. Entry documents will be available in February 2017 at www.americana.de.
