Horse Sales at the NILE
Buyers find prospects, weanlings and good using horses during the auctions at the 2014 Northern International Livestock Exposition.

The Northern International Livestock Exposition brings together ranchers, stockmen, 4-H’ers and American Quarter Horse enthusiasts right before the snow starts falling for winter in Billings, Montana.
Just a few blocks from the Yellowstone River, the NILE offers a rodeo, a trade show, livestock shows, cow horse futurities, an AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge and two horse sales: one for weanlings and yearlings, and one for performance horses.
Prices for good using horses started at $5,000 and went up from there. It was the Journal’s first year to attend, but we found plenty of good prospects that we hope to see again next year. Take a look at some of the horses and people we saw in Montana.
