The North Dakota Pre-Fair Quarter Horse Show, sponsored and managed by the North Dakota Amateur Quarter Horse Association, ran July 15-16 at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds in Minot, North Dakota, with the Minor Fair Quarter Horse Show following on its heels July 17-18.

Competitors hauled in from across the state of North Dakota, as well as Canada, Montana and Minnesota. The Pre-Fair Show saw 89 horses and 451 entries, with the State Fair Show seeing 87 horses with 433 entries. This was quite a fun show for young exhibitors with small-fry classes for beginning youth, as well as leadline.

The participants showed their AQHA pride by answering questions from fair attendees and giving opportunities to pet their horses as visitors passed through the stalling barns. In addition to the AQHA show, Quarter Horses were featured in several other events at the state fair, including team roping, barrel racing, ranch rodeo, and the 4-H, open and cutting horse shows. Other equestrian events were on tap at the fair, too: pony and draft pulls, a draft horse show, miniature horse show, plus American Paint Horse, Appaloosa and Morgan shows.
