Looking Back at the WQHA Awards Banquet

In a lovely reception January 24, the Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association celebrated its 2014 year-end champions at the organization's annual awards banquet. 

Among the night's festivities were the WQHA Hall of Fame inductions for AQHA Professional Horsewoman Gigi Bailey of Maribel, Wisconsin, and the late Docs Lil Misty Time, owned and bred by Dr. Jerry Papendorf of Appleton, Wisconsin. Docs Lil Misty Time was a 1990 bay mare by Scotch Bar Time and out of Docs Lil Miss by Doc Clabber.

Kathy Schroeder, the WQHA vice president and an AQHA national director, was the recipient of the WQHA President’s Award. And the Wisconsin Quarter Horse Youth Association presented its 2014 Sportsmanship Award to Kamryn Krutche, while the 2014 Booster Award Recipients were Melanie Louys and Katelyn Schultz.

Every year, WQHA recognizes the high-point Level 1 (Novice) amateur western pleasure team with the Bill Goggins Award in memory of Bill.  This year’s recipient was Marcia Smith of Orangeville, Illinois, and Investinalookatme (Invest In A Hot Star-Takeagoodlookatme by Zippos Mr Good Bar).
