The Sugar Bowl Extravaganza Was Sweet

The Louisiana Quarter Horse Association wrapped up 2014 with the Sugar Bowl Extravaganza at the Ike Hamilton Arena in West Monroe. The show, which ran December 27-29, was managed for the first time in several years by LQHA.

The triple-judged show saw healthy entries, especially in Level 1 (Green) western riding with 10 entries; all ages western riding, 15; youth ranch horse pleasure, 10; amateur ranch horse pleasure, 10; all ages ranch horse pleasure, 20; all ages trail, 26; and amateur reining, 10.

All-around winners earned belt buckles, and to qualify for the award, entries were required to show in halter to all six judges. High-point awards included halters for halter winners and hat cans for English and western.
