AQHA Region Eight Championship: June 21

Emily Rollison grew up showing in AQHA, then took a break for school. She's back now with a filly out of her old show mare.

On June 20, AQHA Publications Intern Nicki Csenge was taking pictures in the showmanship make-up pen at the 2015 Merial AQHA Region Eight Championships when she noticed a horse simply lay down in the pen. A little concerned, she approached the horse's owner, Emily Rollison, to make sure the filly was OK.

"She's tired," Emily, who is from Kingsville, Texas, told Nicki. "She's 2 and she was in four halter classes this morning. We're just waiting for showmanship to start."

Wait. A 2-year-old in showmanship?

There's a story, we said. Watch our interview with Emily at left.
