January 9 saw the crowning of the 2015 Michigan Quarter Horse Association year-end award winners. The awards banquet was part of the MQHA convention, January 10-11 in Lansing, Michigan. 

In addition to the year-end awards winners, MQHA also recognized:

  • 2015 Father of the year: Jeff West

  • 2015 Mother of the Year: Nicole Veldhoff

  • 2015 Members of the Year: Roger and Marcia Hansen

  • 2015 Show of the Year: Harbor Classic, Ludington

  • 2015 Adult Sportsperson of the Year: Jeff Moody and Holly Gordon

  • 2015 Youth Sportsperson of the Year: Katherine West

  • 2015 Most Valuable Professional: Mary Luther

  • 2016 Michigan Quarter HOrse Hall of Fame inductees: George and Sandy McCrumb

  • 2016 Michigan Quarter Horse Hall of Fame horse: the late, Mr. Tobano Bay, owned by Michelle Moody-Lewis
