Usually spirits will plummet at a horse show when rain blankets the show grounds. That wasn't the case August 13 at the 2017 Merial AQHA Region One Championship.

It was high time western Washington saw precipitation after 55 days without measurable rainfall. On the last day of the show, exhibitors welcomed the wet pavement, which sharpened the clip-clop of horse shoes, and the need to toss coolers over show saddles to protect them from drizzle.

It was the last day of the show, and exhibitors vied in western pleasure and horsemanship classes, as well as a highly contested, albeit cute, leadline competition. 

With the completion of the show came the crowning of the following high-point winners:
