AQHA Region 6 exhibitors are preparing for the 2014 Merial AQHA Region Six Championship and Region Six Super 6 Show Series The show, slated for July 15-20 at the Eastern States Expo in West Springfield, Massachusetts, provides American Quarter Horse enthusiasts a chance to test their horse-showing skills.
The six-day Merial Regional Championship has a long list of classes offered, starting with yearling stallions at 8 a.m. on July 15. Mike and Charlene Carter, Suzy Jeane, Michelle Tidwell, Nancy Ann Alto-Renfro and Lori Gordon will judge the event.
“The opportunity to bring together a large group of horse enthusiasts is always exciting,” said Charlie Hemphill, AQHA senior director of shows and new events. “There will be numerous chances for competitors to show off their skills and to learn from others. This show shouldn’t be missed.”
Exhibitors at this regional championship have the opportunity to partake in more than typical show classes. With an extensive class list and fun extras, such as the Friday Night Potluck Aisle Hop, show attendees are guaranteed to have a blast.
Additionally, by placing in the top 10 of a Level 1 (formerly Novice) class, exhibitors can qualify for the 2015 AQHA Level 1 (Novice) Championships. The exception to this is halter, where Level 1-eligible halter exhibitors can compete in corresponding youth and amateur classes to qualify for the Level 1 Championships.
