"We are pleased to announce that WCHA and AQHA have once again joined together to make these classes possible," said Greg Holden, World Conformation Horse Association president. "Much time and effort has been spent by both WCHA and AQHA to help grow and improve our industry, and we think the owner-breeder is a significant contributor to the growth of the industry and the breed registry's success, worthy of significant recognition."
In 2015, the two classes offered will be OBE weanling colts/geldings and OBE weanling fillies. Any AQHA offspring by 2015 WCHA Futurity-enrolled stallions will be eligible to show.
"The WCHA, in conjunction with AQHA, first initiated the owner-breeder-exhibitor classes at the 2013 WCHA Breeder's Championship Futurity to reward the breeders for their efforts and investment, and it was an overwhelming success," said Luke Castle, WCHA Futurity co-chairman.
"We look forward to these exciting classes and are proud to be an alliance partner with the American Quarter Horse Association,” Holden said. “WCHA thanks AQHA for recognizing the importance of the owner-breeder in the industry and allowing WCHA to host these classes at the World Show venue.”
