How Level Eligibility is Determined

Find out what goes into determining level eligibility.

Level eligibility is based on a November 1 - October 31 calendar. This is to allow the AQHA competition department time to process fall show results that will affect the following year's eligibility.

Definition of Experience  Level Names  Incentive Fund? World Show?
Most highly accomplished (exhibitor)  Level 3
All points earned in the past three years, all divisions, all levels excluding exhibitor Level 1 and  Rookie points
Level 3 earns both AQHA Incentive Fund money and world show qualifying points 
Most highly accomplished (horse)  Level 3
All points earned in the past three years, excluding horse Level 1 and Rookie points  
Moderately accomplished (exhibitor)  Level 2
All points earned in the past three years, excluding exhibitor Level 1 and Rookie points 
Level 2 earns both Incentive Fund money and world show qualifying points  
Moderately accomplished (horse)  Level 2
All points earned in the past three years, excluding horse Level 1 and Rookie points
Minimally accomplished (exhibitor)  Level 1
All points earned in the past three years, excluding exhibitor Rookie points. An exhibitor who has pointed out of Level 1 can return to Level 1 if the exhibitor has not earned any points in that class for 10 consecutive years and must meet eligibility requirements per Rule SHW245.3 
Level 1 does not earn Incentive Fund money or world show qualifying points
Minimally accomplished (horse)   Level 1
Less than 25 lifetime points, all divisions, all levels excluding horse Rookie points; and have not won more than $1,000 in any equine organization or association
Beginner to few accomplishments (exhibitor)  Rookie
Less than 10 lifetime points, all divisions, all levels
Rookie does not earn Incentive Fund money or world show qualifying points
Beginner to few accomplishments (horse) Rookie
Less than 10 lifetime points, all divisions, all levels
