Ritch Gaiti is nationally recognized for his moving oil paintings capturing the spirit, drive and emotion of horses and the American West. The paintings are about change, evolution and extinction—something emerges, something disappears. Each represents the spirit of a time long gone.
Ritch paints in oils, often using a warm palette and texture to add another dimension and give the effect of the passage of time. “Somewhere deep inside the image of the horse, lies the essence of the horse; that is what I’m after.”
His work has been featured on the cover of Horses in Art , as well as Elite Equestrian, Sidelines, Southwest Art and Art of the West. He has exhibited in corporate venues as well as museums across the country.
Gaiti says: “Horses embody beauty, grace, strength, but, most of all, freedom. Nothing compares to the exciting energy of horses running free on the open range.
He is currently exhibiting his works in galleries in Whitefish, Montana; Fort Collins, Colorado; Alpharetta, Georgia; and Delray Beach, Florida.. His entire portfolio may be viewed on www.Gaiti.com. Ritch has written several novels; he also enjoys tennis, skiing and is a private pilot.
