2021 PRCA Nutrena Horse Of The Year Nominations Open

The American Quarter Horse Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association are looking for nominations of outstanding registered American Quarter Horses.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is looking for the outstanding registered American Quarter Horse in each of the PRCA’s timed-event categories.

The owner of the Nutrena Horses of the Year in each of the seven categories will be awarded $5,000 and an AQHA bronze trophy. Second place will receive $3,000, and third place will receive $2,000.

To nominate a registered American Quarter Horse (your own or someone else’s) that you feel has excelled in the ProRodeo arena during 2021, please fill out this form.

All nominations must be received by midnight Mountain Time on September 26, or earlier. All nominations must be registered with the American Quarter Horse Association to qualify.

Eligible voters are the top 25 timed-event contestants in the PRCA World Standings (tie-down roping, steer wrestling, heading, heeling and steer roping) and in the WPRA NFR Standings (barrel racing and breakaway roping) as of September 20, 2021. Eligible voters will receive an email via Survey Monkey. The final vote begins 8 a.m. Mountain Time on October 4 and closes 5 p.m. Mountain Time on October 8.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is returning to Las Vegas for 2021. Wrangler NFR 2021 will take place December 2 through December 11, and fans can follow official PRCA updates throughout the event at www.prorodeo.com.
