Farnam AQHA All-Around Amateur Crowned

During the past three weeks, the top exhibitors and horses competed at the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show; AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); Adequan® Level 2 Championships; Nutrena Level 1 Championships; and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals. The show runs through November 21 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The 2020 Farnam All-Around Amateur Award is presented to the exhibitor and horse team that earns the most points in three or more Level 3 amateur events in three categories during the show.

Lauren Stanley of Visalia, California, earned the title of 2020 Farnam AQHA All-Around Amateur. Stanley showed the American Quarter Horse Extremely Good Stuff, owned by Jeff and Garrett Crivelli of Visalia, California. The 2013 red roan gelding, by Extremely Hot Chips and out of Shes Got The Goodstuf, was bred by Brad and Corrine Borton of Bridgeton, New Jersey. Stanley and Extremely Good Stuff earned 54 points. They won the world champion title in horsemanship, reserve world champion title in showmanship, placed sixth in amateur trail and seventh in amateur aged geldings. 

The Farnam All-Around Amateur received a one-year use of a Sundowner trailer, an original Lisa Perry bronze and rose bouquet.

Morgan Ratkowski of Joelton, Tennessee, earned the Reserve Farnam All-Around Amateur title. Ratkowski showed her American Quarter Horse Better Buy The Minit. The 2005 bay gelding, sired by Do You Have A Minute and out of Tickle My Asset, was bred by Kramer/Davis of Reddick, Florida. Ratkowski and Better Buy The Minit earned 46 points. They won the world champion titles in amateur hunter hack and amateur equitation over fences and reserve world champion title in amateur hunt seat equitation. They also placed fifth in amateur working hunter.

The Reserve Farnam All-Around Amateur received $5,000 and a silver bowl.

Placing third was Alexis Parisek of Adams, Tennessee. Parisek showed her American Quarter Horse Truly Authentic. The 2012 gray gelding, by Truly Priceless and out of Lukable, was bred by AQHA Professional Horsewoman Nancy-Sue Ryan of Nocona, Texas. Parisek and Truly Authentic won the reserve world champion title in amateur working hunter, place third in amateur equitation over fences, sixth in amateur pleasure driving and seventh in amateur hunter hack.

Placing fourth was Kelsey Jung of Farmington, Utah. Jung showed the American Quarter Horse Moonlite Cruiser, owned by AQHA Professional Horseman W. Michael Jung of Farmington, Utah. The 2010 bay gelding, by Only In The Moonlite and out of A Radical Blaze, was bred by Steven and Susan Thompson of Hillsboro, Ohio. Jung and Moonlite Cruiser placed third in amateur trail, seventh in amateur western riding, ninth in amateur hunt seat equitation and were finalists in performance halter geldings.

Placing fifth was Rebecca Schainost of Bloomfield, Nebraska. Schainost showed her American Quarter Horse Smokees Dun It Girl. The 2014 bay mare, by Smokees Oakee and out of Red Bucks Hottie, was bred by Jolene and Lonnie Greckel of Bloomfield, Nebraska. Schainost and Smokees Dun It Girl earned 10 points. They placed fourth in breakaway roping and were finalists in the amateur performance halter mares.

The third- through fifth-place Farnam All-Around Amateur finalists received $1,500.

Level 1 Amateur All-Arounds
Each year, AQHA awards the top three Level 1 all-around amateurs during the Nutrena Level 1 Championships. 

• Level 1 All-Around Amateur: Melissa Wahrmund of Rio Hondo, Texas, and Krymsun Kryptonite

• Level 1 Reserve All-Around Amateur: Christianna Schuckman of Burlington, Wisconsin, and Shez Hot N Platinum

• Level 1 Third-Place All-Around Amateur: Michaela Dinger of Keller, Texas, and VS Code Theodore

The Level 1 all-around amateur and reserve all-around amateur received a specially designed trophy and buckle. The third-place Level 1 all-around amateur received a specially designed crystal.
