AQHA Supports Youth Through YEDA Sponsorship

The American Quarter Horse Association's new sponsorship of the Youth Equestrian Development Association offers scholarship opportunities.

The American Quarter Horse Association is proud to partner with the Youth Equestrian Development Association (YEDA) to create new scholarship opportunities for participating American Quarter Horse Youth Association members. YEDA encourages development of riders’ skills, emphasizes exposure to scholarship opportunities and connects youth with college programs.

YEDA participants who are also AQHYA members can earn scholarships through the AQHA Outstanding Youth Award as well as through the YEDA Scholarship Incentive Fund Program. To be eligible for the AQHA Outstanding Youth Award:

  • Participants must have a current AQHYA membership.

  • Complete the selection application.

Eligible YEDA members are encouraged to apply in the spring of 2023.

The Youth Equestrian Development Association Inc. (YEDA) is a program that encourages development of riders’ skills, emphasizes exposure to scholarship opportunities and encourages making connections with college programs.

YEDA’s mission is to provide an equestrian riding program for youth students, via both instructional and experiential learning opportunities. To accomplish this, they engage in equestrian competitions, instructional clinics, networking events and recruitment events that includes but are not limited to scholarship disbursements.
