AQHA is saddened by the loss of AQHA breeder Cecilia Hylton and sends condolences to her family and friends.

Well-known AQHA breeder and founder of the Hylton Maiden western pleasure class, Cecilia M. Hylton, died on February 8.

Cecilia was the founder of the Hylton Maiden 3-Year-Old & Over Maiden Western Pleasure slot class that originated at the Reichert Celebration. She moved the prestigious event to her home state of Virginia, where it has been offered at the Virginia Classic in Lexington in recent years.

Cecilia was an accomplished exhibitor and finished in the top five at the AQHA World Championship Show. She was also a longtime contributor to the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund, which provides assistance to AQHA Professional Horsemen in the event of a demonstrable hardship or disaster of a severe and unexpected nature or from serious physical illness.
