Cruz E. Nava's Trump My Record sprinted to a half-length win in Saturday's 400-yard, $904,631 Texas Classic Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Saddled by Jose Sanchez III and ridden by Eddie Sanchez, Trump My Record earned a 104 speed index while stopping the timer in :19.464. The $402,562 winner's share of the purse from Texas' richest horse race increased the Apollitical Blood colt's bankroll to $791,153.

Trump My Record was bred in Texas by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches Lp. The colt is out of Breck N Records, a winning 7-year-old Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare. His second dam, the Mr Jess Perry mare Thrill And Grace, won the 2007 Harrah's Entertainment Derby (G2) at Louisiana Downs.

Campaigned in Texas and Louisiana, he has won eight of 10 races, including the March 20, 300-yard Harrah's Entertainment Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs, and the May 3, 330-yard Sam Houston Futurity (G2) at Sam Houston Race Park.

"The most important thing is a sound horse," said Jose Sanchez III. "He always did everything well, with his feed and with his recovery from the trials.

"He's an athlete, and he's very smart," the trainer added. "He's very calm in his stall, but when you take him out, he knows."

Chilitos finished second and was followed by Battle Weary, Doc Hockaday, A Painted Dynasty, My Fast Prize, KJ Frankie B, and Dynast C. FM Dynasty Rock and Takillya Gurl were scratched.
