Working Western Rail Two-Part Series Winners

Working western rail horse owners take home cash and prizes, courtesy of Headley Quarter Horses, in the open and amateur working western rail classes at the 2022 Farnam AQHA and Adequan® Select World Championship Show and ranch rail stakes at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

Owners of open and amateur horses competing in working western rail at the Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World in Oklahoma City, and the ranch rail stakes at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, earned trophy saddles and a portion of $10,000 in added money, courtesy of Headley Quarter Horses, as a part of the Working Western Rail two-part series.

The highest cumulative point earner in the two-part series was Sumac GunnaBeFlashy owned by AQHA Professional Horsewoman Leslie Lange of Greeley, Colorado. The 2017 chestnut gelding by GunnaTrashYa and out of Chics Graceful Whiz was bred by Donald Sobey of Trenton, Nova Scotia. Sumac GunnaBeFlashy was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman Bud Lyon and earned $5,000 for Lange in addition to a custom Harris Leather ranch-style saddle.

Hollywood Hot Gun owned by Jeff and Jenny Honey of Greenbrier, Arkansas, placed second in the two-part series. The 2018 palomino stallion by Hollywood Cool Gun and out of Sure A Hot Valentine was bred by the Honeys. Hollywood Hot Gun was shown by Jeff and secured a $3,000 check his owners.  

The third high-point earner was Whiz Chic Grace, who is owned by Pam Troutman of Suffolk, Virginia. The 2017 bay mare by Whiz N Crome and out of NicWhizMePlease was bred by Matthew Hagee of San Antonio. Whiz Chic Grace was shown by AQHA Professional Horseman Matt Gouthro. The pair earned $2,000 for Troutman.

The highest cumulative point earner in the two-part amateur working western rail series was Gotta Hot Gun, who is owned and shown by Karen Johnson of Burns, Tennessee. The 2010 bay gelding by Spooks Gotta Gun and out of Hot Coded Candy was bred by Sally Ress of Evergreen, Colorado. Karen received a custom Harris Leather ranch-style saddle for the win.
