Sorenson of Canyon, Texas, is named the 2015 America's Horse in Art signature artist.

America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale will return in August 2015 to the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum. Each year, one artist is given the great honor of being selected as the show’s signature artist. The signature artist for the eighth annual America’s Horse in Art is Jack Sorenson of Canyon, Texas.

“I am honored to announce Jack Sorenson as the 2015 America’s Horse in Art signature artist,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. “The American Quarter Horse has long been a focus of Western art, and we appreciate having a great Western artist like Jack headlining our art show.”

The show’s signature artist creates a piece of art that becomes the visual representation of the show for that year. The piece is featured on print and online marketing materials and also as a print when available.

Sorenson is currently creating the work of art that will be used as the signature piece. He grew up on the Six Gun City dude ranch situated near Palo Duro Canyon, and even worked as a stagecoach driver, performance gunfighter and horse trainer. Sorenson is widely known for his beautiful western art and is one of the Leanin’ Tree Greeting Card Co.’s best-selling artists. His work has been featured on the covers of more than 60 western magazines, including The Quarter Horse Journal, The Cattleman and Western Horseman.
