Fundamentals of Horsemanship - The Backup

AQHA teamed up with La Cense Montana to develop AQHA's “Fundamentals of Horsemanship,” a comprehensive guide that helps you improve your relationship with your horse. This lesson demonstrates how to teach your horse to respond to light pressure on the halter to back up. Since horses instinctively oppose pressure, there are other positives from this exercise including respect, control and safety.
