The American Quarter Horse Association welcomes Aaron Bovos as the Association’s new chief financial officer. Bovos will begin his role with the Association on November 5.

As the AQHA chief financial officer, Bovos will assist in the formulation and development of short-term and long-term strategy for the Association through the management of AQHA’s finances. He will lead the finance team to ensure solid stewardship of the company assets and compliance with financial regulations, as well as provide a variety of services to the business, such as financial planning and analysis, budgeting and program analysis.

While Bovos’ professional resume details a long list of accomplishments and recognitions, including his most recent service as the chief financial officer and director of financial management services for the nation’s 15th largest city, Fort Worth, Texas, he is no stranger to the horse industry.

His list of personal accomplishments includes winning the Southern Belle Breeders Futurity at the 2015 All American Quarter Horse Congress in the 2-year-old non-pro western pleasure class. In addition, he also holds numerous national and world championship titles showing Appaloosas. As a youth, Bovos learned the value of hard work and commitment by showing horses, and credits these experiences to much of his success as an adult.

“It’s a great honor to have been selected by Craig and the AQHA team to serve the Association’s entities in this role and capacity,” stated Bovos. “I’m very excited about the direction of the Association and being able to contribute to an organization committed to the horse industry.”

Bovos received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University and a master’s degree in governmental accounting from Rutgers University. He also holds a Certified Treasury Professional credential from the Association of Finance Professionals.
