Utah QHRA Accepting Stallions for 2016 Stallion Service Auction

Auction will be held January 16 in Sandy.

Edited press release

The Utah Quarter Horse Racing Association will hold its Stallion Service Auction on January 16.

The Utah Quarter Horse Racing Association is currently accepting stallions for its 2016 Beehive Stallion Service Auction, which will be held January 16 at Club 90 in Sandy, Utah, starting at 6 p.m. (MST).

Any stallion that does not sell at the live auction will be available until April 30, 2016, by contacting UQHA Racing secretary Jeannie Hullinger.

"With last year being the most successful year we’ve ever had, we’re very excited going into 2016," Hullinger said. "A big thank you goes out to all of the stallion owner/farms that have supported us over the years, and we’re hoping they will continue to support the Utah racing program.”

The success of this year's auction has allowed UQHRA to add $50,000 to the purse of the 2018 Beehive Futurity (R), an increase from $32,000 in 2016.

“This growth puts some value in these Beehive-eligible horses,” Hullinger said. “W’re very encouraged about our racing industry in the Intermountain area.”

UQHRA will produce a Beehive Stallion Service catalog again this year. Click here for a stallion-owners Beehive Auction letter. Click here for a list of stallions whose foals are eligible for the 2016 futurity.
