Staggering Stride (Hip No. 228), a daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry and a half sister to two-time champion FDD Dynasty, sold for $150,000 to top the two-day Los Alamitos Equine Sale, held October 3-4 at Los Alamitos Racecourse.

Abigail Kawananakoa, the sale’s leading buyer with six purchases totaling $550,000, signed the ticket for Staggering Stride, who was part of the Lazy E Ranch consignment. The yearling filly is out of the Grade 1-winning Tolltac mare Dinastia Toll BRZ.

Kawananakoa paid $120,000 for A Bit Quirky (Hip No. 229), a Stel Corona yearling filly consigned by Edward C. Allred. A Bit Quirky is a full sister to 2014 Southern California Derby (G1) winner Quirky.

He Too Looks Hot (Hip No. 352), a son of Walk Thru Fire consigned by Allred, was the third-highest seller at $105,000. Ricardo Ramirez signed the ticket for the colt, who is out of the stakes-winning and Grade 1-placed Check Him Out dam Look Her Over and is a full brother to 2014 Los Alamitos Two-Million Futurity (G1) winner He Looks Hot.

Allred was the sale’s leading consignor with 46 head grossing $1,399,500.
