The two-day TQHA Yearling Sale started on Friday.

Avyator, a son of One Famous Eagle and Grade 1 winner Quick Moon Sign, sold for $68,000 on Friday to top the first day of the two-day Texas Quarter Horse Association Yearling Sale in San Antonio.

JF Racing & Farm LLC signed the ticket for Avyator, a Texas-bred homebred consigned by breeder Bobby D. Cox. Avyator's dam, the Royal Quick Dash mare Quick Moon Sign, won two Grade 1 futurities in Oklahoma in 1997 and the Blue Ribbon Derby (G3) during her sophomore season. The colt is a half brother to 2012 Northlands Futurity winner Midnight Sunlight.
