A son of Apollitical Jess sold for $300,000 to top the first night of the three-night Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale at Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico.

The colt, A Sweet Jess (Hip No. 130), was purchased on Friday by Don Cavenaugh from the consignment of Roger Daly, agent for Allred Bros. Ranch LLC. An Arizona-bred, A Sweet Jess is out of the Grade 3-winning First Down Dash mare One Sweet Dash.

The sale continues tonight following the last race at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack, and it concludes on Sunday.
