Second night of Ruidoso sale up 11 percent.

The second session of the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale on Saturday night was up 11 percent, led by a pair of yearlings that each brought more than $200,000. Nine additional yearlings sold for more than $100,000.

The average on per horse sold (final) was $48,135. The total sale through the first two nights of the three-day event is up two percent.

Leading the consignments was Jess Helene, a son of Mr Jess Perry and Rainbow Futurity runner-up Belle Helene, at $257,000. He was consigned by Lazy E Ranch, agent and purchased by R.D. Hubbard.

Belle Helene, the dam of Jess Helene, is out of Rainbow Futurity winner Thewayouwantmetoo. She is also the dam of the Mr Jess Perry-sired champion 2-year-old colt A Revenant, winner of the Rainbow Futurity and second in the Ruidoso Futurity, and Golden State Million third-place finisher Luv Supreme.

The second yearling to sell for more than $200,000 was This Is Us, a son of Good Reason SA and stakes winner Summertime Quickie, at $210,000. He was also consigned by Lazy E Ranch LLC, agent and bought by Walt Knorpp.

Summertime Quickie is the dam of champion Foose, an earner of $1.6 million, and Restricted Grade 1 winner Flay. She has also produced two stakes-placed competitors.
