BF Fooserageous Wins Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge

The homebred filly recorded her third stakes victory Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.

Birrell Farms' BF Fooserageous, a homebred daughter of champion Foose and the fourth-fastest qualifier, sprinted to a neck victory in Saturday's $39,970 Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge Stakes at Ruidoso Downs.

Saddled by Wes Giles and facing a 12-mph head wind, BF Fooserageous covered 400 yards in :19.955 under jockey Adrian Ramos. The filly earned a berth  in the October 29, $200,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G2) at Los Alamitos.

BF Fooserageous was bred in Utah. Her dam, BF Outrageous, is a homebred 16-year-old daughter of Proudest Effort who won the 2003 Diamond Classic Derby (R) at Wyomiing Downs.

Raced in Utah, Wyoming, and New Mexico, BF Fooserageous has won seven of 10 outs and has banked $99,653. The filly's three lifetime stakes victories include last year's South Valley Futurity at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City and Utah Bred Futurity (R) at Wyoming Downs.

The Fiscal Cliff, the fastest qualifier and odds-on favorite, finished second and was followed by Phoebesdynasty, Zoomin Racer, My Streakin La Jolla, Msg Wicked Hussy, Aventador, Zoobie Cartel, My Mojito, and They Seis Im Quick.
