Sherree Meridyth’s Executive Trust, a 5-year-old Executive Menace gelding who ended his 2015 campaign with a three-race win streak, will make his 2016 season debut in Saturday’s 870-yard AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge trials at Albuquerque Downs.

Executive Trust will be making his first start since November 22, when he scored a one-length victory in the 870-yard, $55,000 King Rick Rack Stakes at Zia Park. The gelding has won nine of 14 races at the distance.

Executive Trust drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ry Eikleberry for trainer Guadalupe Munoz Jr. in the second of two trials. His five opponents in the second heat include Jessa Little Rusty, a 6-year-old son of champion Mr Jess Perry trained by John Stinebaugh for owner Louis Howard. Jessa Little Rusty is coming off of a head victory in the 870-yard, $50,000 Remington Distance Handicap (G3) at Remington Park on June 4.

Glen Murphy will ride Jessa Little Rusty from post 3.

The eight fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 24, $50,000-added AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge final.
