Betrothen Draws Rail Post for Merial Arapahoe Distaff Challenge

The multiple stakes winning Walk Thru Fire mare returns at Arapahoe Park on Saturday.

A field of seven fillies and mares has been entered in Saturday's Merial Arapahoe Distaff Challenge at Arapahoe Park.

RTM Stables LLC’s Betrothen, a multiple stakes winning 5-year-old Walk Thru Fire mare trained by Mark Hanson, drew the rail post for Saturday’s 400-yard, $20,000-added Merial Arapahoe Distaff Challenge at Arapahoe Park.

Betrothen will be making her first start since May 6, when she crossed the wire first but was disqualified and placed third in the 400-yard, $21,000 Merial Sun Downs Distaff Challenge. The California-bred mare has won six of her 18 races and has earned $47,283.

Eddie Aceves will ride Betrothen on Saturday.

The winner of this race will earn a berth in the Grade 1, $150,000 Merial Distaff Challenge Championship at Los Alamitos on October 29. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:
