Streakin Zoomer Tops Albuquerque Distance Challenge Qualifiers

The 7-year-old stallion posted the fastest qualifying time on Saturday.

Streakin Zoomer, a 7-year-old son of Shazoom racing for Alejandro Arzabala Jr., is the fastest qualifier to the July 24, $50,000-added AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge Stakes (G3) at Albuquerque Downs.

Racing in the second of two trials on Saturday, Streakin Zoomer covered 870 yards in :45.114, and his winning margin was 4 1/2 lengths from multiple stakes winner Executive Trust. Alejandro Medellin rode the stallion for trainer Martin Orona Sr.

Streakin Zoomer was making his first start in New Mexico in four years and his first-ever start at Albuquerque Downs. A two-time stakes winner, he has won nine of 30 races and has earned $109,543.

Other prominent qualifiers include multiple stakes winner Executive Trust and Jessa Little Rusty, the winner of the June 4, $50,000 Remington Distance Championship (G3) at Remington Park on June 4.
