James Sills' Feature Moonflash, a Louisiana-bred gelding by champion First Moonflash, is the fastest qualifier to the July 30, $59,400 John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge Stakes (G3) at Ruidoso Downs.

Prepped by Eddie D. Willis, Feature Moonflash won the second of five trials by a nose from second-fastest qualifier Tac It To The Moon on Friday. The gelding covered the distance in :17.691 under jockey Cesar Gomez while scoring his second win in four outs.

Feature Moonflash shipped to Ruidoso from Oklahoma, where he was a finalist in the March 26, 300-yard Oklahoma Futurity (G3) at Remington Park. A $19,000 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the gelding has earned $29,328.
