First N Final, Pappas In The House Return in Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge

Saturday's 400-yard stakes has drawn a full field of 10 3-year-olds.

Saturday's 400-yard, $15,000-added Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge has drawn the graded stakes placed First N Final.

First N Final and Pappas In The House are among the 10 sophomores entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $15,000-added Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge Stakes.

First N Final is a sorrel daughter of Favorite Cartel trained by Juan Jose Romo Jr. for owner Juan Jose F. Romo. The filly will be making her first-ever start at Sun Downs off of her third-place finish in the 400-yard, $227,000 La Primera del Ano Derby (G3) at Los Alamitos on April 2.

First N Final drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jesus Arriaga.

Pappas In The House is trained by Mark Hanson for owners Rob Evans and Hanson Racing LLC. A bay gelding by Pappasito, Pappas In The House won two stakes during the 2015 Les Bois Park meet, including the 350-yard, $172,000 Bitterroot Futurity (R). The gelding drew the rail post and will be ridden by Nakia Ramirez.

The winner of this race will earn a berth in the October 29, $200,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Los Alamitos. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:
