Los Alamitos Race Course will offer a special double wager, dubbed the "Los Alamitos Big Money Double," connecting Saturday's 440-yard, $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) and Sunday's 400-yard, $1,016,250 Golden State Million Futurity (G1).
The Bank of America Challenge Championship is the richest of 10 races contested Saturday at Los Alamitos as part of the AQHA Bank of America Racing Challenge. The Bank of America Challenge Championship will match 12 outstanding sprinters, including 2014 world champion JRC Callas First, and local graded stakes winner BH Lisas Boy.
Wagering on the Los Alamitos Big Money Double must be made prior to the start of the Bank of America Championship, which has an approximate post time of 10:12 p.m. (PST) on Saturday. First post for the 10-race Racing Challenge card on Saturday is 6 p.m. (PST). The wager will then be completed with the running of the Golden State Million Futurity, which will be led by Governor’s Cup Futurity (RG2) winner AJS Anna Smoke, two-time major futurity runner-up Worth Doing, and fastest qualifier and likely morning-line favorite Cartel Sixes.
“With a wide-open 12-horse field in the Bank of America Championship on Saturday and an outstanding 10-horse field racing in the Golden State Million on Sunday, we believe that this special double will be a very attractive and fun wager for our racing fans,” said Los Alamitos marketing and publicity director Orlando Gutierrez.
