Roberto Gomez's Perkin Desire is the fastest qualifier to the September 17 John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge.

Perkin Desire, a Colorado-bred filly owned and trained by Roberto Gomez, is the fastest qualifier to the September 17, $40,000-added John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge Stakes.

Ridden by Ramiro Garcia and sent to post at odds of 27-1, Perkin Desire won the last of three trials on Sunday by three-quarters of a length. The filly was making her first-ever start at Prairie Meadows and scoring her second win in four races.

Perkin Desire was bred by Randall and Kasey Hund. She began her career at Arapahoe Park near Denver and won a maiden-special-weight dash at that track on July 24.
